Caged Bird 04:05
CAGED BIRD Spending my whole life inside a palace, you know It sounds like such a funny thing to say And I guess that I don't bear them any malice, you know I'm safe from all the world at least today But I've read of distant places on the print beneath my perch And I'd like to see new faces, take a peek what could it hurt? Someone let the caged bird out the door Now that I've learned all the words I'd like to know the score Now I know the map so well I’ll try the countryside Someone let the caged bird go outside Tweet tweet tweet yeah! Sometimes I feel like a dancing monkey, you know They call me out to show me off for fun And while Im turning heads I'm just a flunky, you know Worried bout the next new thing to come See I've learned to speak the language I can do a few good tricks No my life is not all anguish but this can't be all there is! Someone let the caged bird out the door Now that I've learned all the words I'd like to know the score Now I know the map so well I’ll try the countryside Someone let the caged bird go outside Every evening when the curtain falls I am not afraid But every morning from this gilded stall yes I'd like to fly far away Wish I was a Cowboy or a Sailor, you know To try the many things I’ve never had And despite a happy home and friendly jailor, you know I find myself a little more than sad Like a photo in a locket that no one really sees Is that key there in your pocket? Won’t you come set me free Someone let the caged bird out the door Now that I've learned all the words I'd like to know the score Now I know the map so well I’ll try the countryside Someone let the caged bird go outside Written by Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BMI) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI)

DOLITTLE DRAGON Mrs. Dotlittle has a pet under the stairs She knows she has a way with animals because she shares Her name with a man they made a movie about Only she can understand but now she’s having doubts I say it’s really very sad so many get him wrong And I say it’s really very bad that all the neighbors cats are gone ‘Cause there’s a Doolittle dragon living on my street And he’s a do nothing drag on everyone he meets Yeah there’s a Doolittle dragon in us big and small And if we don’t do something soon he might just eat us all Mrs. Dotlittle says they get along so well She says they never quarrel but it’s clear she’s under his spell When he’s out of her sight and out on the road Breathing fire on fools questing for his gold I say he’s never gonna change so buyer best beware And I say it’s really quite a shame her happy home is a smoky lair ‘Cause there’s a Dolittle dragon living on my street And he’s a do nothing drag on everyone he meets Watch out what you Yes there’s a Dolittle dragon in us big and small And if we don’t do something soon he might just eat us all Is she just like you and me? Is she just like you and me? Is she seeing what we see? Is she seeing what we see? Can she maybe please explain? Can she maybe please explain? Why she doesn’t see it? Flames Why she doesn’t feel the flames? ‘Cause keeping a dragon is fine feathered task A hero's journey with a thousand masks A brimstone stoke an ego stroke such love is smoke and ash And all the while he needs a place to crash And I say if love is really blind you never get to choose But I say you really can’t combine a lovers leash and a pretty noose ‘Now there’s a Dolittle dragon living on my street And he’s a do nothing dirty drag on everyone he meets Hey how do you Yeah there’s a Dolittle dragon in us big and small And if we don’t do something soon he might just eat us all Written by Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BMI) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI)

INVISIBLE MAN I can’t see you with my baby blues So strange it’s like I’m all alone No I don’t feel well I’m in my own hell It’s like you’re here when you are gone Tell me how to get a better view ‘Cause all you do fades away Tell me how to find you day or night I’m losing sight of the invisible man Just like Claude Rains you’ve gone outside without a hat But that’s how I know exactly where your face is at A puff of smoke a tangled bandage left behind It’s so unkind, no I’m not blind but I can’t see you there I can’t see you with my baby blues So strange it’s like you’re never here No I don’t feel nice I think I just might Curl up and finally disappear Tell me how to get a better view ‘Cause all you do fades away Tell me how to find you day or night I’m losing sight of the invisible man Bah! I can’t see you there! Invisible, invisible, invisible, invisible Vanishing into thin air Invisible, invisible Slightly less miserable Anyway I look it isn’t fair Can’t even glare ‘cause ‘Cause I can’t see you with my baby blues Just like Claude Rains you’ve gone outside without a hat So strange it’s like you never were It’s how I know exactly where your face is at No I don’t feel fine I’m losing my mind A puff of smoke a tangled bandage left behind It’s like you’ve always been a blur It’s so unkind, no I’m not blind Tell me how to get a better view ‘Cause all you do fades away Tell me how to find you day or night I’m losing sight of the invisible man Written by Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BMI) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI)

Magic Show 04:33
MAGIC SHOW Underneath the bed in an old brown box I found out something ‘bout you Might should’a kept it locked It was peelin’ round the edges There were baubles and rings and A cryptic kinda ledger on how you do your thing You’re a real wiz kid it’s a supernatural fact And I’m the little white rabbit you pull From your big top hat, now who have figured that? It’s a magic show, I love the way you get it done And honey the magic shows Despite the tears you’re still the only one Whenever your magic shows It never fails to my surprise I’m getting a magic show Right before my eyes Right before my eyes I found your ol’ black cape and a book of spells Never guessed you’d rate, man you hide it so well I dig your prestidigitation It really does impress And that magi meditation gets me outta my dress You’ve got the whole crowd here fooled They’re amazed and shocked Over the voodoo you do Behind the curtain to pick that lock, a fancy illusion for this dummy box It’s a magic show I’ve been ensorcelled by your charm And honey the magic shows A great fakir has come along Whose wonderful magic knows Just how to shrink me down to size In time for the magic show Right before my eyes Right before my eyes You’re a real wiz kid it’s a supernatural fact And I’m the big eyed dame you’ve been aiming to saw in half And I’m really to scared to laugh When the audience starts to clap I sure hope you can put me back For the magic show, I love the way you get it done And honey the magic shows Despite the tears you’re still the only one Whenever your magic shows It never fails to my surprise My very own magic show Right before my eyes Right before my eyes Written By Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music, BMI) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing, BMI)

MR. LEMON"S SWEET REVENGE Sadly Mr. Lemon doesn't care for the sunshine as Cars go rushing, people go brushing on by him On the corner giving dark monologues he sees Smog roll above them but no one to love, He sees rubber faces showing traces of their wasted half lives Bleeding in the gutter Mr. Lemon's old newsprint Inky and stupid, for telling the truth is outdated Overrated in the grand scheme of things, he goes Everywhere dreaming plotting and scheming He hates the changes can not face it so he plans a great surprise Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is All he wants world to see although Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is far from splendid It's good for you and me Mr. Sadsack can’t make a happy face Everyone else is happy All work no play All of the kids are happy Mr. Longtooth you’re such a sourpuss Why is he so unhappy? Grade A bad day Why can’t he have a happy day? Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is All he wants world to see although Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is far from splendid But it's good for you Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is All he wants world to see although Mr. Lemon's sweet revenge is far from splendid But it's good for you and me Standing on the corner Mr. Lemon supposes All thorns have roses, and with this prognosis he smiles Written By Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI) Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BMI)

NOTES FROM THE MADHOUSE Anne, your ambition bird keeps me up late at night Rowing towards god in a long restless flight But she was caught in the crossfire, now I’m dragging the lake This business of words gives more than I can take That girl is a stone cold fox gone swimming with great big rocks That lady is white hot stuff bittersweet but not so tough Too bad she had to go Can you feel the undertow? Notes from the madhouse, all of us cast out Cotton eyed big mouths with lips of ruby red All of us screamers syllogist schemers Notes from the madhouse, songs for the dead Sylvia fair can I fit under there beneath your white-hot candy bell jar of glass? The bee box colossus nine stolen lives of cats You got a nice straight jacket but honey I got the shoes to match That woman ain’t got no shoes, she got Byron and Shelly’s Blues That dame set a monster loose bittersweet but a simple truth Too bad she had to run Can you see she’s come undone? Notes from the madhouse, all of us cast out Cotton eyed big mouths, with lips of ruby red All of us screamers solipsist schemers Notes from the madhouse and songs for the dead Blackberry baby some say your crazy But I can see your smile inside the bramble there Suicide ladies in love with Hades The pomegranate wine has stained your teeth but you don’t care That girl is a stone cold fox gone swimming with great big rocks That lady is white hot stuff bittersweet but not so tough Too bad she had to go Can you feel the undertow? Too bad she had to go, sounds like some I know Notes from the madhouse, all of us cast out Cotton eyed big mouths with lips of ruby red All of us screamers some of us dreamers Notes from the madhouse and songs for the dead Notes from the madhouse, all of us cast out Cotton eyed big mouths with lips of ruby red All of us screamers solipsist schemers Notes from the madhouse, songs for the dead Written By Circe Link – Narccisiphus Music (BMI) Christian Nesmith - Neztoons Publishing (BMI)

FORTUNE COOKIE Now that you've been off the farm where do you go from here? Now that you've seen the worlds charms do you still hold it dear? Keep on looking Riddles rhyme Guess you’ll have to try To find your fortune, cookie Now that the bell has been rung can you hear something new? Now that the title's been won there's not much you can do Keep on hooking Round the ring Guess you'll take a swing Don’t fight your fortune, cookie Now that you've opened the box are you quite satisfied? Now that you’ve broken the locks you can’t turn back and hide Keep on looking Open eyed Guess you’ve seen the signs To read your fortune, cookie Now that you've ordered a meal did you want something else? Now I know how you might feel but why not wait a spell? Something's cooking Get your fill Guess I’ll pay the bill Just eat your fortune cookie Written by Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BMI) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI)

HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR TEA? Now somewhere I read long ago philosophers have said To live an unexamined life one might as well be dead But I’ve been round the world of late I’ve cried and I have laughed Met people places small and great, some good, some fair, some bad But one thing's left to ask How do you take your tea my friend? How do you take your tea? Some days are grey some days are sunny It’s all how you see So how do you take your tea? I’ve been to magic shows, broke all my toes, and made sweet lemon aid Was shipwrecked once, met poet punks, by strangers love got saved Yet each and every time I’d find no matter where I’d go One thing was always on mind so tell me I must know How do you take your tea my friend? How do you take your tea? Some days are sad some days are funny It’s all how you see And how do you take your tea? I flew to India to meet The Dali Lama and then He told me how to love my enemy just like we were friends I found The Buddha in a garden and we had a big laugh And with my one hand barely clapping I gave his belly a pat I drove to Burningman and tripped with Alan Watts in a dream I broke into an English palace for some cake with The Queen And don’t you know the funny thing that all asked of me was... How do you take your tea? How do you take your tea my friend? How do you take your tea? Look if you're smart or you're a dummy It’s all by degree How do you take your tea? How do you take your tea my friend? How do you take your tea? Some days are grey some days are sunny It’s all how you see How do you take your tea? Spending your whole life inside a palace Sounds like it’s the saddest way to go But if you step outside and keep your balance You can learn to fly … Written By Circe Link (Narccisiphus Music BM) Christian Nesmith (Neztoons Publishing BMI)

about

Bird's Amazing Odyssey And The Meaning Of Tea is our first concept record. It's a fanciful metaphor in the guise of Bird's longing to know the world beyond the confines of a comfortable cage and the surprises that await just outside. Told with whimsical, catchy songs, grand vocal arrangements, and sonic surprises, this record and the tale within is our most adventurous undertaking yet. But rest assured, there's plenty of that Circe Link sound you've come to enjoy.
